Art Psychotherapy

Art therapy combines the creative process and psychotherapy, facilitating self-exploration and understanding. In sessions, imagery, colour and shape are used as part of this creative therapeutic process. Thoughts and feelings can be expressed that would otherwise be difficult to articulate. Art experience is not required, nor is artistic ability.

Art Hive

An Art Hive is a community art studio that welcomes everyone as an artist. At its heart, an Art Hive is about inclusion, respect and learning. It's a welcoming place to talk, make art, create connection and build community. In this community studio we respond in creative ways to things that matter to those who are present.

Art Classes

Art Classes offered by Currents Art Psychotherapy Studio are facilitated by our Artist Instructors. These classes are designed for attendees to learn art concepts and practice art making skills. Each class explores different art making concepts and are age/skill appropriate. Please note that these classes are not therapy.

Hi, I’m Dylan! Art has been a passion of mine since I was young, especially drawing. I recently graduated from Augustana where I studied psychology, played volleyball, taught volleyball lessons to kids, and worked in student health and wellness. I had little time to do art during school, but I managed to squeeze in some studio art courses. These classes quickly became a highlight for me as I was reminded how enjoyable art is, and how fun it is to learn new skills. I am excited to share with you the skills and knowledge that I have learned, and I hope that adding some art into your busy schedule will bring you enjoyment too!    Join me for a 6 session course that has everything to do with drawing, starting with the basics of drawing, and then working our way towards ink and charcoal. Each workshop offers something unique to learn, but I suggest joining me for all 6 courses. See you there!
